TeamLab is known for its immersive attractions blending artistry with imagination and sensory experiences, designed to give family travelers a new way to view art in relation to the world around us.

It is a collective group of multimedia artists first formed in Tokyo in 2001 and, since that time, they have been busy creating incredible exhibits that set records, including its recent recognition from Guinness World Records for the teamLab Planets exhibit as the most-visited museum by a single art group in the world.

The collective has exhibits around the globe, with current installations on view throughout Japan, and in cities like Beijing, Macau, Jeddah, Singapore, Abu Dhabi, Miami, New York and Hamburg. The Planets exhibit in Tokyo, while permanent, is ever-growing, with three new “body-immersive” exhibits soon to open in 2025.

The Athletic Forest, will present visitors with a creative space designed to let them experience the world using their bodies in a three-dimensional exhibit filled with interactive scenes of constantly changing colors and shapes.

Future Park was created as an educational experience designed to foster two very human traits — creativity and collaboration. TeamLab believes these traits will be extremely important as we head into the future, wanting to make a space where the concept of co-creation (combining creative activities with those of others) can be explored so today’s children are ready to embrace the world of tomorrow. Future Park lets people (kids especially) play in a space where artwork evolves endlessly as humans interact with it and with each other’s creations.

With more than 2.5 million visitors between April 2023 and March 2024, it is no wonder teamLab Planets has received Guinness recognition. The creativity and artistry of the collaborators who craft the exhibits is mind-blowing, and they clearly have no intention of slowing down. The upcoming Catching and Collecting Forest, scheduled to open in 2025, will be an educational place for visitors to use their smartphones to explore an interactive world in a virtual catch, study and release experience.

With each new addition to its collection, teamLab Planets gives families even more reason to visit the tech-forward city of Tokyo. The experience is ideal for kids of all ages to let their imaginations run free in true teamLab style.
