Make 2024 the year of family travel with these travel trends and insights from American Resort Development Association.
Booking.com conducted a recent survey on what travelers are looking for in the upcoming year, and the results are in: cool-cations and water-centered travel. More than a third of those surveyed were interested in water-focused vacations for 2024. The study also found beach destinations are the most desired stay for vacation club members. The Holiday Inn Club’s beach properties in Cape Canaveral, Myrtle Beach and Panama City reached its highest occupancy in the past year. Club Wyndham already has 48 percent of reservations for 2024 booked at beach properties.
The survey also found, in the new year, about 47 percent of parents plan to take their children out of school to travel outside of peak travel season, showing family travel is still a must for vacation club owners. Seventy-three percent of Marriott Vacation Club owners are families who visit domestic locations such as Palm Beach Shores.
Interval International, a travel membership company, announced its top 2024 travel destinations, including the Hawai’ian Islands, Florida, Aruba, the Caribbean, Mexico and South Carolina.
Timeshare vacations are also expected to be popular in 2024. According to Club Wyndham, timeshare owners already booked their spring break plans, with more than 20 percent of 2024 bookings made for March 2024.
