Age Specific / Adult Children

What’s more fun than traveling for a culinary event? One that incorporates wildlife … on an island. Enter Whiskey, Wine & Wildlife hosted by The Westin on Jekyll Island, Georgia, Feb. 6–9, 2020. Bring your adult children along or escape for a fun beach getaway. Either way, stay hungry!

W3 blends all kinds of beverage tastings, including beer, spirits, whiskey, wine and artful cuisine, from some of the best chefs in the South. Taste delights from local culinary superstars, sip libations and enjoy the wild terrain of Jekyll Island — all with an up-close wildlife encounter.

Check out the full list of events:

Thursday, February 6:
The event kicks off with W3 Wine Dinner and Launch Party at 6:30 p.m. on The Reserve, The Westin Jekyll Island. Enjoy fare from celebrity guest chef Whitney Otawka and walk away with a signed copy of Otawka’s new cookbook, The Saltwater Table.

Friday, February 7: Next up, W3 Wine Cruise with Captain Phillip sets sail 11 a.m.–1 p.m., from Jekyll Island Historic District Wharf. If that’s not to your taste, head to the W3 Master Class Pours, 12–4 p.m., at The Westin Jekyll Island. Later in the evening and new this year, guests can enjoy Food & Wine Pairing Dynamics 4:30–6 p.m., also at The Westin Jekyll Island. Learn about tasting and pairing wines, including a special handbook created for the session. A portion of ticket sales is donated to the Jekyll Island Foundation. Even later (6:30–9 p.m.) guests stick around for Whiskey Inspired on The Westin Jekyll Island’s Oceanfront Lawn.

Expect an afternoon of (more) wining and dining, music, cooking demonstrations, wildlife experiences and fun souvenirs to take home.

Sunday, February 9: On the final day of the festival, head to Sunday Brunch. Hosted 11 a.m.–2 p.m. at The Reserve, brunch includes unlimited Champagne tastings, cocktails and incredible eats.

Discount tickets are available online and include tasting, foodie events and all experiences. Limited quantities are available before Jan. 31, 2020.

The weekend’s events will once again raise funds and awareness for programs of the Jekyll Island Foundation.

Interior Upgrades Begin Rolling Out Across United Fleet

United Airlines is in the midst of a major initiative to modernize its fleet over the next several years. After first announcing the plan in 2021, planes fitted with United’s signature interior are finally beginning to appear across the airline’s narrowbody fleet of Boeing and Airbus planes. United flyers are sure to notice these enhancements from the moment they step on board: Each new or updated plane sports remodeled seats, seatback entertainment screens for everyone, Bluetooth connectivity and more, all adding up to a better experience on every journey.
