Cruising

Cruises have a reputation for pampering passengers and providing every amenity imaginable — fine dining, world-class entertainment and carefully-curated shore excursions —  but Oceania Cruises is upping the ante. The cruise line unveiled its latest upgrade, the Aquamar Spa and Vitality Center.

The cruise line’s new wellness model emphasizes the entire wellbeing of passengers, focusing on the mind, body and soul, understanding health and wellbeing must be customized and cultivated. Cruise passengers now have the opportunity to make the most of their cruise vacation by experiencing Oceania’s holistic wellness encounters both on and off ship.

The philosophy behind Aquamar Spa and Vitality appears to be focused on five key components: travel, discovery, fitness, rejuvenation and nutrition. By marrying these elements with top-of-the-line cruises to incredible destinations, Oceania shows its passengers a new era of cruising.

While onboard, passengers can enjoy the healing benefits of spa treatments to either enhance the trip or become the focus of the experience for a customized spa cruise. New treatments available this winter include acupuncture; a caviar firming and lifting facial; ionithermie leg therapy designed to revitalize tired legs and improve circulation; a bamboo massage; and a marine algae detox wrap that includes head-to-toe treatments.

Onboard fitness classes allow passengers to maintain fitness goals during their cruise or be inspired by taking a class with a stunning ocean view. To maintain the theme of wellness Oceania’s ships are also offering healthy menu options, including plant-based dishes, and a raw juice and smoothie bar.

Oceania’s new wellness philosophy incorporates the themes of wellness and vitality into the cruising destinations themselves with carefully cultivated excursions that continue the commitment to health and vitality when passengers are exploring local destinations. Wellness tours are available to passengers cruising to destinations like Greece, Israel, Spain, Thailand, Australia and beyond. Travelers can enjoy a yoga and wine tasting experience on the Greek island of Santorini, overlooking the stunning caldera. In Spain, enjoy an Arabian bath experience in Malaga or, on a trip to Italy, discover the healing powers of a thermal bath in Rome. There are even unusual wellness experiences available like the apitherapy experience in Seville where you can explore the healing powers of honey. Visitors to Bangkok can take part in a meditation experience with a Buddhist monk.

Not only do these excursions give passengers incredible experiences to commune with nature, but they impart valuable knowledge and techniques to be continued well beyond the cruise. These experiences, combined with onboard rejuvenating and revitalizing treatments, are an investment in the mind, body and soul of Oceania’s passengers.
