Don’t let your wanderlust drive you crazy while you’re stuck at home. There are plenty of travel and travel-related experiences you can enjoy from the comfort of your own couch (and those experiences may just spark new ideas for future travel).
Visit a Virtual Beach
Visit Florida allows you to virtually experience all 825 miles of Florida beaches via the Florida Beach Finder. The first step? Finding your perfect beach. Users choose their preferences, picking qualities such as action-packed, family-friendly, romantic or secluded. Then, they’re whisked away to visit that beach via 360-degree images integrated into Google Maps, from which they can explore the area further.
Visit a Virtual Museum
Visit one of the world’s premiere art museums and explore via immersive, 360-degree videos. The Metropolitan Museum of Art offers videos of all its locations, including The Met Cloisters, The Met Breuer and galleries throughout the Fifth Avenue location.
Go on a VR Adventure
Experience a ride on Niagara Falls’ Maid of the Mist, take a helicopter ride over the Falls and more, thanks to 360-degree video also compatible with VR goggles, if you have them at home.
Catch a Show
You may not be able to gather with hundreds of other music lovers to enjoy a show this season, but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on fantastic performances. You can catch livestreams of performances of all types from organizations such as the Caramoor Center for Music and Arts in New York, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and The Strand Theatre Hudson Falls.
