Cruising

Captain Cook Cruises, also known as Fiji’s cruise line, reopened Tivua Island for day cruises. For travelers visiting Fiji, or locals needing a staycation, Captain Cook Cruises offers everything from dinner cruises and three-day journeys to seven–11-day adventures through Fiji’s must-visit surrounding islands.

The small-ship cruise company also launched a new reef sustainability initiative, Buy A Coral – Build A Reef Coral Rejuvenation Program.

With the Buy A Coral – Build A Reef Coral Rejuvenation Program, guests can get involved and give back while visiting Tivua Island, surrounded by 500 acres of coral reef life. The program allows guests to purchase and plant a coral frag — all proceeds go toward the Captain Cook Cruises’ Coral Rejuvenation Program to protect and preserve Fiji’s reefs.

Tivua Island’s surrounding marine and coral life has already benefited from Captain Cook’s team of marine biologists during the lockdown.

Captain Cook Cruises is a leader in reef sustainability, conservation and education along with its team of marine biologists and its Ocean Ambassador program, which collects tons of waste from Fiji’s beaches, across 90 of the 300 nearby islands so far, and leaves the beach cleaner than they found it. Ocean Ambassadors collect, sort, weigh, record and recycle the trash — cruise passengers can also contribute to the program and help.

The Tivua Island Day Cruise is available Saturday and Sunday, with more dates to come as travel restrictions lift and Nadi International Airport opens.

In addition to giving back to the land and supporting the ecosystem, guests onboard the Tivua Island Day Cruise will enjoy morning tea while sailing, snorkeling excursions (experienced divers can explore further on a deep wreck dive), kayaking, standup paddle boarding and volleyball, all before a buffet lunch. Sail back with afternoon tea and local entertainment.

Captain Cook Cruises implemented a strict company-wide cleaning policy to ensure the health and safety of its passengers and crew. Check out other itineraries, inclusions and offers here.
