Travel Tips

With the excitement of Halloween behind us and leftover candy for days, get creative and use the sweets in some of your favorite homemade goods.

Check out these baking tips and give your favorite Halloween candy a new, delicious twist.

Brownies with a Twist

There are so many ways to add Halloween candy to brownies. Any of your chocolate candy can be added to brownie batter to make brownies even better. Grab some Kit Kat, Reese’s, Snickers or M&M’s and add them into your brownie mix before placing them in the oven. You can either make them with one type of chocolate candy, or mix different types for a flavor blast.

Cookies with a Twist

Ditch regular chocolate chip cookies and add some chopped chocolate candies instead. If you want to get even more creative, try adding Sour Patch Kids or Skittles to give it a sweet-or-sour twist. One way to make the most out of leftover Halloween candy is to make a cookie cake and add all different types of candy. Sweet, salty, savory — mix it all!

Bake a Cake

One way to incorporate Halloween candy into a cake is in the decorations. Bake and ice a cake or cupcakes as you normally would and incorporate different types of candy on the top of the icing and around the sides. Another way is to get creative and try to add some candy into the mix, giving each bite a delicious twist.

Dessert Nachos

This delicious twist on Halloween candy offers a surprisingly healthy option. Cut some apples into slices, and drizzle melted caramel or chocolate sauce over the apples before adding your leftover candy on top. This delicious treat is guaranteed to satisfy that sweet tooth.
