The holiday season may be fast approaching with winter weather right around the corner, but there are still a few fall activities on our seasonal bucket list.
Make Scarecrows
Stuffing hay and straw into your own family scarecrow is a fun activity for all ages. Host your own friendly competition among friends and family with apple cider and caramel apples. Give the kids a chance to craft and get creative while clearing out the closet of old clothes to use on your new scarecrow.
Get Outdoors
Whether hiking, biking, kayaking or something adventurous, there is something so peaceful and refreshing about getting outside in the fall. Book a bike tour for the whole family. Get the kids who can ride their own bike and a outfit your bike with baby seat for the little one. Plan a family outing filled with kayaking and hiking, or go all in on a family camping weekend. Bask in the lingering fall light, crisp weather and incredible views.
Host a Fall Party
Get your friends, neighbors and family together for a fall-themed party or Friendsgiving celebration. This will give you a chance to catch up and save face before the holidays ensue and the kids can have some extra time with friends. Get crafty and make pumpkin vases, or have a friendly competition over cupcake decorating, pumpkin seed roasting or carving. Just because it’s November, the pumpkin fun doesn’t have to end.
Hit Local Farmers Markets
This time of year, fall festivals and seasonal farmers markets offer fun events and tastings for all ages. Sample local wines, pumpkin brews and jump on a hayride with the kids. Little ones get their faces painted, pet farm animals and enjoy fall festivities before the seasons change.
Hot Air Balloon
Check out this list for a hot air balloon festival in your area. Bundle up and check out local festivals or take a road trip to the nearest one this season. Watch vibrant balloons take off, peppering the sky with lively colors, or schedule a tour with a hot-air balloon group. Get a bird’s eye view of the fall foliage and take in the fresh air just before the winter.
