Walt Disney World is known as the most magical place on Earth, but, come Oct. 1, 2021, it is about to get a lot more magical. Fifty years after the opening of Disney World on Oct. 1, 1971, Disney will kick off The World’s Most Magical Celebration. All four parks get in on the fun as each park’s icons are sprinkled with pixie dust.
Disney coined the term “EARidensence” to describe what guests should expect out of the 18-mont- long celebration. Mickey and Minnie will be dressed in their best while sporting new outfits to go along with the theme.
Entertainment will be a big part of the celebration — leave it to Disney to go above and beyond with the best parties, parades, decorations and more. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, fireworks and parades have been canceled, but Disney World is still going to make the most out of this celebration.
Each night, iconic park symbols will light up and become “Beacons of Magic.” Pixie dust will shimmer on Cinderella’s Castle; magical fireflies will come to life in the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom; the Hollywood Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios will come to life with new features; and, lastly, over at EPCOT, new, colorful lights will illuminate the panels of Spaceship Earth to resemble the night sky.
Although all the details and events haven’t been announced yet, park and hotel reservations are filling up, so if you are interested in joining the celebration, book your trip quickly.
