Travel Tips

I took my first cross-country trip since the pandemic to California to go to Disneyland and California Adventure to visit a friend and celebrate another friend’s birthday. Although I have never been to Disneyland, I have been to Walt Disney World countless times, so I was interested to see how all the new rules and regulations work. After experiencing it firsthand, I wanted to share my experience with readers interested in visiting the park.

Since the park’s reopening, it has operated on a reservation system. When you purchase your tickets for the park, you have to reserve the days you plan to visit. If you buy Park Hopper passes, you must specify which park you plan to visit first that day.

When the park reopened, all guests had to wear masks, but, just recently, following CDC Guidelines, Disneyland lifted the mask requirement for vaccinated guests. Throughout my visit, I saw plenty of people wearing masks and plenty who were not, all depending on their preferences. I personally didn’t wear one and felt safe the whole time.

Plenty of hand sanitizer stations were around the parks and set up right outside every ride’s entrance and exit, gift shops and restaurants for guests to utilize as they please. The custodial Cast Members were constantly cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, dining tables and other surfaces for guests and their safety.

One tip I do have for all guests is be prepared to walk. The trams from the parking lot to the park’s entrances are currently not running due to the pandemic, so guests have to walk at least one mile to get to the park. It wasn’t bad on our way in, but, at the end of the day, we were exhausted.

Overall, my visit to Disneyland felt like the world was back on track to being normal again. The crowds were light and safety precautions were noticeable. With the light crowds, I would highly recommend a trip to Disneyland and California Adventure in the near future.
