Off the Map Travel’s North Pole Getaway

Experience the Northern Lights on your next family travel getaway with Off the Map Travel. The new five-day tour, A Polar Night, brings travelers close to the North Pole for an exclusive journey.

 

The tour begins in Oslo, Norway, before traveling north to Svalbard, Norway. Guests stay at the secluded Juva Cabin in Svalbard. The property’s remote location offers a complete absence of light pollution, ideal conditions for viewing the Northern Lights. The cabin is equipped with comfortable beds, a fireplace, lounge room, kitchen and sauna.

Day 1

Arrive in Oslo for an overnight stay at boutique hotel Amerikalinjen.

 

Day 2

Depart for Longyearbyen and check into Funken Lodge. Explore the city before an evening snowcat mountain tour.

 

Day 3

Check out after breakfast and meet the guide for a dog sled experience. After a stop for lunch, check in at Juva Cabin. Take in Northern Lights views before enjoying dinner in your cabin. Guests may also view the lights from the comfort of the cabin’s sauna, equipped with large windows.

Day 4

Travel via dog sled back to Longyearbyen. Spend a night back at Funken Lodge. Enjoy dinner at the property or venture into town for your meal.

 

Day 5

Check out and head to the airport via private transfer.

 

The tour starts around $3,250 per person based on double occupancy. Available January–May, the tour includes all meals, a one-night stay at Amerikalinjen Hotel in Oslo, two-night stay at Funken Lodge in Longyearbyen, one-night stay at Juva Cabin, transfers and activities. Flights are not included.
