Teenagers aren’t shy about taking photos as long as it’s a selfie and they’re in control of the camera. If your teens are self-obsessed, why not embrace it and turn it into a vacation they’ll remember. They’ll also be in good company. According to Google, the world took 24 billion selfies over the course of a single year. We’re pretty sure Kim Kardashian took the bulk of those, though.
Here are 10 destinations your teens will love, and love to take selfies at.
Dead Sea
The Dead Sea is an intriguing place to take a swim and float in the lowest point on earth before lathering up in the muds. The Dead Sea is also referred to as the Salt Sea, which creates a buoyant and unique experience for visitors. Of course, you need a water-resistant smartphone and a clean, mud-free hand to turn this selfie into the magical experience you’re looking for.
Head to Pompano Beach in Florida to Shipwreck Park for an underwater selfie experience full of artificial reefs and public art. This place looks like something out of Pirates of the Caribbean with unique artwork and sculptures alongside Lady Luck, a 324-foot tanker.
Colosseum
Rome’s Colosseum practically begs for selfie-taking in this ancient amphitheater. The attraction is also the perfect shot from several vantage points and is a good opportunity for teens to learn about this historic site where gladiatorial contests and mock sea battles attract up to 80,000 spectators.
Top of the Rock
The Empire State Building is always an iconic spot for a selfie, but Top of the Rock, or Rockefeller Center, is usually an easier selfie score with just as amazing views. Unlike the Empire State Building where visitors crowd onto a tiny observation deck and battle for the arm space to take selfies, the Top of the Rock has plenty of room to spread out and take in the views.
Sagrada Familia, Barcelona
Families visiting Barcelona should head to Sagrada Familia in Barcelona to explore this large, unfinished Roman Catholic church designed by Catalan architect Antoni Guadi. As one of the most famous landmarks in Barcelona, the church resembles a cathedral but without a bishop’s seat. Snap some selfies outside and then step in to pay your respects and learn more about the religious culture of Barcelona.
Tower Bridge, London
London is full of selfie-worthy spots including the Tower Bridge. Head over to the south bank of the Thames River and get an angle of the bridge or snap a photo with the Tower of London. Teens can explore the Victorian Engine rooms and sit along the popular glass floor to take an iconic selfie.
Grand View Terrace, Mount Rushmore
Snap a selfie and get a history lesson at the same time with George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt at Mount Rushmore. Teens can stand at the Brand View Terrace to snap that grand view to post to Instagram.
The Blue Hole
Underwater selfie enthusiasts need to add the Blue Hole to their bucket list and snap an underwater photo in this marine sinkhole. Situated off the coast of Belize, teens will also have a view of Lighthouse Reef and access to world-class diving.
Rim of the Canyon, Arizona
The Grand Canyon has plenty of opportunities for selfies, but the South Rim attracts more than 5 million visitors with the most accessibilities to the canyon and amenities. Just be sure to safely clear the edge of the cliff before taking a selfie or posting it to social media.
Madame Tussauds, Las Vegas
It’s easy to get caught up in the moment at Madame Tussauds and really believe the wax celebrities you’re taking selfies with are the real thing. Get a photo with Gwen Stefani, Nicki Minaj or Captain America. The best part is, these celebrities never say no to capturing that selfie.
