Multigenerational

Head to the largest festival in the Midwest this winter to enjoy a dazzling winter wonderland, perfect for family travelers. The beloved World of Winter festival returns to Grand Rapids, Michigan, Jan. 6–March 5 for nearly two months of fun.

The festival features beautiful outdoor installations, lively events and tasty food and drinks. The best part? All programming and activities are free to all. At the festival, visitors can explore more than 20 large-scale, interactive and Instagrammable art installations. Other features include more than 50 ice sculptures located within easy walking distance of one another. Installations like House of Cards, a series of 128 light boxes in the form of playing cards shaped into a unique structure, light up the city during the festival.

Kids will love joining some fun events like the Human Hungry Hippos tournament or the Snow Moon Snow snake competition. Adults and kids can also witness the Circus Wonderland, Ice Piano performances and more. The World of Winter Festival offers guests the chance to experience a scavenger hunt, street party, drag show, silent disco, concerts and walking tours.

For food and drink, look no further than the many vendors present at the festival. Visitors can select from a variety of dishes and food trucks, with everything from a food truck rally to a noodle competition.
