Destinations / Europe

Finding a hotel room in Paris to accommodate a family isn’t easy, especially in moderate or budget hotels. Rooms are rarely big enough to accommodate an extra bed or a roll-away, leaving travelers with children few options near the main tourist sites. But a few exceptions exist in good locations.

Near the Eiffel Tower, Hotel de Londres Eiffel offers both triple and connecting rooms and is filled with true Parisian atmosphere, so your kids will immediately feel like they are in Paris. Close to moderately priced restaurants, the hotel is in a quiet neighborhood. Also near the famous tower and with a tower view from its lofty family suite, Le Derby Alma is a five-minute walk from the Pont D’Alma metro stop, where you can get direct connections to Notre Dame and to visit the splendid Palace of Versailles.

If you are arriving directly from Charles de Gaulle Airport, Novotel Paris Les Halles is only a few steps from Chatelet-Les Halles station, where you can access airport trains as well as the Metro. The budget-friendly hotel is between the Louvre and Pompidou Center on the Right Bank. In good weather, the garden terrace is a nice place to relax after sightseeing. You’ll find both family rooms and larger suites, where bedrooms are separated by sliding doors, giving parents a little more privacy.

It is always worth asking if a hotel has connecting rooms suitable for families with older children.

Best of Both Worlds

Enjoy the best of both worlds when you fly with TAP Air Portugal thanks to the Portugal Stopover program. With the program, TAP passengers, whether traveling for business, leisure or both, can stop in Portugal for up to 10 days at no additional airfare on the way to their final destination. What does this mean for travelers wishing to explore by both land and sea? It means after flying to Portugal with TAP and experiencing the country in an entirely new way, travelers can then embark on scenic river and ocean cruises from  Portugal’s port cities, or fly with TAP to another European destination.
