Travel Tips

Sometimes a winter snowstorm can put a damper on family travels. Instead of letting it ruin your day, follow these tips to create a memorable snow day for the family. Whether inside or outside, snow day fun is endless.

What’s the first thing you want to do when you go out in the snow? For me, it’s making a snowman. Gather family or friends from the neighborhood and spice up this traditional snow day activity by making it a competition. Include everyone by having multiple winners for different categories, such as tallest snowman, smallest snowman, most decorative, most creative, most unique and so on. Kids and parents will have a blast.

Another classic activity to keep kids entertained for hours is sledding. Find the biggest hill in your neighborhood and set out for a thrilling adventure. If you get caught without a sled, be creative and find things from around the house that could act as one — perhaps a baking sheet, trash can lid, pool tubes, cardboard boxes or maybe even a shower curtain.

The perfect snow day doesn’t have to consist of just outdoor activities; there is plenty of fun to be had indoors, as well. Whether stuck inside or heading back in from outdoor fun, a hot chocolate bar never fails. Let the kids be creative and make their own hot chocolate by adding items like marshmallows, sprinkles, candy canes, cinnamon sticks, chocolate chips or any other candy you may have around the house.

Once you’ve had your hot chocolate, snuggle up in your pajamas with your favorite blanket and stuffed animals for a movie. Or, if your family is still full of energy, build a fort. Gather all your blankets, pillows, movable furniture and whatever else you have laying around and build an exclusive hideaway.

Interior Upgrades Begin Rolling Out Across United Fleet

United Airlines is in the midst of a major initiative to modernize its fleet over the next several years. After first announcing the plan in 2021, planes fitted with United’s signature interior are finally beginning to appear across the airline’s narrowbody fleet of Boeing and Airbus planes. United flyers are sure to notice these enhancements from the moment they step on board: Each new or updated plane sports remodeled seats, seatback entertainment screens for everyone, Bluetooth connectivity and more, all adding up to a better experience on every journey.
