National Waterpark Day is July 28, and what better way for family travelers to celebrate than at a brand-new water playground? Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Arlington, North Texas’s largest waterpark, recently opened Splash Island, a sprawling, 58,000-square-foot destination.

The water park’s biggest investment in its 42-year history, Splash Island features more than 110 interactive water experiences, seven kid-friendly slides, a 1,000-gallon tipping bucket, family cabanas and enhanced dining options.
The heart of Splash Island is a ginormous water structure. Elsewhere in the playground, visitors of all ages will find slides like Cowabunga, Jellyfish Twist, RipQurl, Shark Attack, Splashin’ Seal and Stingray Racer. The playground’s splash pad alone boasts 24 water features spewing water everywhere.

Family cabanas and oversized umbrellas are available to rent, and junior-sized furniture is also available for younger guests. When the family gets hungry, the playground’s signature restaurant welcomes all with open arms.
Splash Island is part of greater Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Arlington, home to more than 40 rides and attractions for all ages. Highlights include Dive Bomber, Der Stuka, Typhoon Twister, Tornado, Shotgun Falls, Sea Wolf, Raging Rapids, Hook’s Lagoon Treehouse, Geronimo and more.
