Not sure where to bring the family this holiday season? What about an upcoming trip in 2024? Chase Travel recently unveiled its holiday travel trends and 2024 travel predictions to inspire families for that next big vacation.
Chase Travel found top international destinations this holiday season include cities in China like Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai; as well as Japanese cities like Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo. These cities have the strongest year-over-year holiday season growth after being closed to travelers last year at the end of the pandemic.
Other popular international destinations for this year include:
- Christchurch, New Zealand
- El Calafate, Argentina
- Chiang Mai, Thailand
- Vienna, Austria
- Rio De Janeiro, Brazil
As for beachfront getaways, it’s no surprise travelers continue to flock to warm-weather destinations in winter. This year, Chase Travel sees drastic growth in destinations like:
- Noord, Aruba
- Miami Beach, Florida
- Roatan, Honduras
- West Palm Beach, Florida
- Playa Del Carmen, Mexico
Families looking for a domestic holiday trip this year can also find a wide range of cities and states for families of all ages and sizes. Popular cities include Houston, Texas; Jackson, Wyoming; Seattle, Washington; Boston, Massachusetts; and Washington, D.C.
Once you’ve booked a trip to one of these destinations or another that piqued your family’s interest and begin to plan out your trip, Chase Travel’s travel advisors have listed some important tips to make travel more efficient and stress-free:
Avoid Busiest Airport Days and Show Up Early
The busiest airport dates, according to Chase Travel, in December 2023 and January 2024 are Dec. 22, 23 and 30.
Find Flexible Payment Plans
Travel costs can add up quickly. Opt for plans like My Chase Plan to split up large purchases into smaller payments with no interest, just a fixed monthly fee.
Earn Points for Holiday Travel
Eligible Chase cardmembers can earn 5,000 bonus points when booking a flight and hotel through Chase Travel. Activate, book and stay by Jan. 31, 2024, and get rewarded.
