Over the past several years, Norwegian Cruise Line has worked to perfect something they call “freestyle cruising,” a concept letting each passenger experience cruising exactly the way they want to. An impressive variety of entertainment, relaxation and activity options let you do what you want to do, when you want to do it. Passengers aboard an NCL cruise are encouraged to dress how they feel comfortable. So, whether you want to dress to the nines or stick to shorts the whole cruise, you will never feel out of place.
When it comes to NCL’s Freestyle theme, dining is no exception, especially on the cruise line’s newest ship, Prima. The ship offers a wide range of dining options to work with every schedule, including four dining rooms (and one bar) complimentary with your cruise, as well as eight specialty dining options available for an upcharge (although Norwegian offers great deals that include some free specialty dining meals with each ticket). This variety not only gives you a huge range of menu options, but also ensures you can find something delicious to eat practically any time of day, with meal service beginning at 5 a.m. and continuing until 3:30 a.m. at the Local Bar and Grill.

Indulge Food Hall offers a unique perspective on the all-you-can-eat dining cruise ships are known for. The dining hall is broken up into various stations, each specializing in a different cuisine such as Indian, Texas BBQ, South of the Border or Asian, not to mention a to-die-for desert selection. Diners seat themselves and order á la carte from a tableside tablet. Within moments of your order, your food is delivered to your table.
Palomar, a specialty dining restaurant, is one of the ship’s crown jewels. The cruise line’s first Mediterranean-style seafood restaurant offers Greek cuisine rivaling the best of what the Greek Islands have to offer, with entrees like grilled lobster and an elevated galaktobouriko, a traditional Greek dessert that offers a modern twist on a centuries-old tradition.
With so many dining options, there is definitely something for everyone, and the culinary experiences are second to none. NCL went to great lengths to bring a crew of well-seasoned staff aboard Prima, ensuring each hand-picked crew member meets Norwegian’s exacting standards. The result? Whether dining in a complimentary eatery or a specialty dining restaurant, each passenger receives a level of pampering and first-class treatment that is second to none and lets you enjoy your cruise just the way you want.
