A Hawai’ian vacation is a dream come true for many, but with several great islands, each with its own stunning landscapes, incredible attractions and distinct personalities, it can be hard to decide where to lay your head. Pacific 19 Kona, the newest hotel to open on the Big Island of Hawai’i, gives family travelers the perfect place to call home while they unwind and explore.

This new boutique hotel features rooms carefully designed to serve as basecamp, giving families the chance to rest up in comfort and style after a long day of exploring and enjoying the island. Rooms are equipped with plenty of creature comforts, including what they call a macro bar that doesn’t just have snacks and beverages for purchase, but also plenty of practical items to make your island experience more enjoyable, like snorkels, hats and sunblock.

The hotel is both family- and pet-friendly and ensures accessibility for guests with a variety of needs. Café P19, the property’s on-site coffee shop, is a great place to experience some of Kona’s famous coffee culture. There are also plenty of great eateries nearby to grab a bite.

Located in Kailua Kona on the Big Island’s west coast, everything the island has to offer lies within driving distance, from incredible hikes in Pololu Valley and exploring Kaunamana Caves Park to relaxing on the beach and snorkeling at Kealakekua Bay.
