Norwegian Cruise Line kicked off 2023 by announcing a new style of cruising for family travelers with Experiences at Sea, a series of cruises designed to pair passengers with a uniquely immersive cruising experience catering to their specific interests. The program allows travelers to choose a cruise offering activities, performances, and special guests and hosts on a voyage taking them to some of the world’s most beautiful ports of call.
Experiences at Sea is a brand-new division of NCL and involves a union between the company’s Charters, Meetings, and Incentives Team and Sixthman Festivals at Sea.
“As Sixthman is a subsidiary of Norwegian Cruise Line,” said Anthony Diaz, CEO, Sixthman, and SVP, Charters, Meetings, and Incentives Team, Norwegian Cruise Line, “it was only natural to host these community-focused festivals at sea on board NCL’s ships that are specially outfitted ships to meet the needs of these unique voyages. With our vast knowledge and expertise in the space, we were able to work with a multitude of partners to create an unprecedented season featuring 13 back-to-back cruises on Norwegian Pearl with incredible immersive experiences such as the Dude Perfect cruise, the KISS cruise, and so much more.”
The result is a brand-new type of immersive voyage pairing cruising with things passengers are passionate about, like music, sports and comedy. The lineup for 2023 has so far included themed cruises such as Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘n Roll Wrestling Rager at Sea, which sailed to the Bahamas, and Nursecon at Sea, which sailed to the Dominican Republic.
Coming up in March, passengers can enjoy the 311 Cruise, hosted by the band 311 and featuring performances, as well as others like Arrested Development, along with comedic performances as the ship sails to Belize and Honduras. The end of March will see the Broadway Cruise, where guests can fully immerse themselves in the world of Broadway performances.
The 2023 Experiences at Sea lineup runs through March, but there is plenty more in store, as the partnership has been renewed for the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
“We are already planning our roster of festivals at sea for 2024 and are extremely excited to continue to expand to serve a wide range of different types of passions and affinities,” added Diaz.
With new Experiences at Sea itineraries expected to launch over the next few months, keep an eye out here and here for all the latest details.
