Listicles

Although Halloween is going to look a little bit different this year, there’s no reason you can’t dress up with the family. Whether you’re staying in, going out or a variation of the two, these costume ideas could be homemade out of everyday materials or objects around the house.

The Little Mermaid

Each person in the family could be a different character from The Little Mermaid, including Ursula, King Triton, Ariel and faithful sidekicks, Sebastian and Flounder.

The Wizard of Oz

Last Halloween, country music star Thomas Rhett and his family dressed up as the Wizard of Oz gang and inspired many families to do the same. The characters are adorable and the storyline teaches the kids a valuable lesson.

The Addams Family

With the new The Addams Family movie released last year, it’s the perfect year to dress as the iconic Halloween family.

The Mystery Gang

Scooby Doo and the gang just took on a new adventure in a brand-new animated movie, Scoob! Introduce your young ones to the gang through the new movie or one of the classics. Once they are hooked, start planning the costume! If you have more family members than the gang, have some dress up as monsters.

Toy Story

With four movies, there is an endless amount of Toy Story characters to go as for Halloween. Go the classic route and be Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the other classic toys, or dress up as the villains or other supporting characters from each movie. Take a spin on the classic costume idea and go as the toys disguised as traffic cones crossing the street in the sequel.

Despicable Me

If you have a big family or want to incorporate many families, the Despicable Me cast costume is perfect. Build your own army of adorable little Minions to run around the neighborhoods this Halloween.

The Little Rascals

Although your kids may be too young to know this movie, it would be an adorable costume for the young ones and a great family photo opportunity.
