Fort Wayne is one of those destinations that doesn’t get the attention it deserves from family travelers. It has tons to see and do and is incredibly accessible, but it also has a diverse cultural makeup and a great food scene reflecting that identity. This summer, that cultural food scene will be on full display when the city hosts five different festivals within 30 days.
The celebrations kick off May 30 with the Tacos, Tequila & Margaritas Fest. This festival will showcase the incredible flavors and culture of Mexico in a day-long event featuring tacos, tacos and more tacos. And, of course, there’s plenty of tequila and margaritas for the parents. In addition to the great food, you can expect great music to keep festivities going from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Arab Fest will take place June 6 and 7 and will celebrate Middle Eastern culture with two days of food, music, dancing and cultural performances. You’ll get to try a variety of food, from hummus to baklawa and everything in between. Shawarma, kebab and falafel are just some of the flavor-packed entrées Arabic cuisine offers, along with great sides and salads like tabouleh and baba ghanouj to round out a meal.
From June 11 to 14 you can experience GermanFest, a celebration of all things German. From Bavarian and bratwurst to steins of beer, there will be activities for kids, live music, dancing and plenty of German delicacies to taste.
BBQ RibFest, which will take place June 18–21, will celebrate its 29th year in 2026. You’ll have your pick of barbecue ribs, chicken, brisket, pulled pork and much more, along with blues bands playing a steady stream of live music. Kid- and family-friendly activities make this an event for the whole family to enjoy.
For Greek food, music and dancing, head to Greek Fest, June 25–28. Hosted by Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Fort Wayne, this celebration will let you experience a little bit of Greece without the expensive plane ride. From gyros to Greek coffee, along with plenty of Greek sweets like baklava, this festival is a great place to get your favorite Greek foods and try something new.
Each of these festivals will take place at Headwaters Park, a 30-acre riverside park giving the city’s residents and visitors plenty of room to stretch out and enjoy the fresh air.
