LEGO fans and family travelers planning a trip to Ireland can finally enjoy the country’s first LEGO shop, located on Grafton Street, Dublin. The new store opened this August and continues to see shoppers flock to the space to not only purchase LEGO kits but also to admire the fun LEGO creations featured around the store. Its highly anticipated opening on Aug. 18 saw so many people line up to enter the store, it enacted wristbands with timed entry. Now, customers can enter at their own leisure.
Inside, customers can find recreations of Aviva Stadium, Dublin’s massive sports stadium; Poolbeg chimneys, thermal station chimneys among the tallest structures in Ireland; and even a giant camogie player. Camogie is the girl version of hurling, a popular sport played across the counties of Ireland. The sport involves a wooden stick with a rounded end and a small ball, in which players try to score goals or points. The new store spans more than 400 square meters and also includes sections dedicated to favorites like Harry Potter and Star Wars.
Other features of the new store include a demonstration table, Pick & Build Wall, an area for guests to build minifigures, and a Minifigure Factory. The store also offers a VIP Rewards program.
Dublin’s LEGO store marks LEGO’s 898th store to open across the world. LEGO plans to open a staggering 986 stores by the end of 2022. The LEGO store Dublin is open Monday–Saturday, 9 a.m.–7 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m.–7 p.m.
