Family travelers heading to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, in the next couple of years are in for a treat as these parks are due for some major upgrades and additions.
Magic Kingdom
Starting at Magic Kingdom, marvel at a new nighttime parade, Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away. Starting in summer, the new parade will combine nostalgic Disney storytelling with glowing innovative designs to continue the legacy of the dazzling nighttime entertainment. Guests will see their favorite characters in a whole new light as the displays dance in the dark. Pirates of the Caribbean fans will be excited to dine at the new movie-inspired tavern in Adventureland in late 2025. The lounge will welcome pirates of all ages with delicious dishes and a few mysterious surprises.
This year also marks the start of new construction at Magic Kingdom. With its biggest expansion yet, the popular park will soon be the home to two new Cars rides in Frontierland and a brand-new Villains-themed land.
EPCOT
In late spring, EPCOT opens a new lounge in honor of the most beautiful park icon, the geodesic sphere and Spaceship Earth. The Spaceship Earth Lounge honors the history of EPCOT and Spaceship Earth while celebrating and embracing its future. Enjoy delicious dishes, an intimate setting and views of the park. The beloved attraction Test Track is set to debut its new look in late summer. Although not much is known about the ride’s update, travelers are in for a treat.
Hollywood Studios
Over in Hollywood Studios, be prepared to see lots of construction with the beginning phases of Monsters Inc. Land, set to take over Muppets Courtyard. For those upset about the news of Muppets Courtyard, don’t fret: The group will take over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster with the help of some of the biggest names in the music industry.
While these two exciting updates happen in the near future, other new additions are slated for later in the year. Enjoy a wicked and exciting live show featuring some of your favorite villains during the new Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After. And, in summer, The Voyage of the Little Mermaid will debut with a new show and title, The Little Mermaid – A Musical.
Animal Kingdom
Animal Kingdom will be under construction in 2025, with Dinoland, U.S.A. soon closing to make room for the new Pueblo Esperanza, a Tropical Americas-themed land featuring an Indiana Jones attraction and Encanto ride. Some construction is set to start in early January with the rest to follow shortly after. There is currently no update on when the popular DINOSOUR ride is set to close. But as Disney officially stated, “2025 is your year to visit before it goes extinct!”
Animal Kingdom will also say goodbye to another beloved attraction, It’s Tough to be a Bug, as the brand-new Zootopia: Better Together! show will take its place.

Sep 23, 2026Move to the Music and Rhythm of Destinations Around the World
The true rhythm of a country is felt away from the main tourist traps. Galleries, museums and historic sites provide an overview, but you need to go elsewhere to experience the living, beating heart of a place. For instance, immerse yourself in the humid turmoil of a Durban underground club, or get to grips with the formal group dances of the Scottish Highlands, or become part of the foot-stomping camaraderie of a Galway pub, or ride the waves of neon-lit energy in a Seoul basement nightclub.
