Cruising

Family travelers will enjoy the onboard entertainment to come on Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Viva, when it debuts this August. Beetlejuice The Musical debuts as the headline production on the groundbreaking new ship, alongside a full lineup of other onboard entertainment options.

“We pride ourselves on not only delivering amazing performances for theater fans but introducing guests to Broadway and West End-caliber shows, which are made even more special by the incredible setting of the Viva Theatre & Club that seamlessly transforms from a best-in-class theater experience to an expansive nightclub,” said Richard Ambrose, senior vice president of entertainment and cruise programming, NCL.

This will mark the first time the Tony Award-nominated musical is performed at sea. The 90-minute adaption of the 1988 movie shows the Deetz family remodeling an uproariously haunted house. The musical will be shown in the three-story, multipurpose Viva Theatre & Club, perfect for immersive special effects and cutting-edge lighting and audio. Michelle D’Amico, part of the Broadway cast, originates the role of Lydia at sea.

Norwegian Viva will also deliver a live game show experience at sea with “Press Your Luck LIVE” and other offerings like “Ocean Music Fest,” with multiple musicians merging on stage for an immersive concert.

Now’s Your Last Chance to See Pandas in the United States

When the National Zoo in Washington, D.C., sent its three pandas to China in November, it left only one other U.S. zoo with these fascinating animals. Families now must travel to Atlanta to see pandas, but even those will soon return to China.

Interior Upgrades Begin Rolling Out Across United Fleet

United Airlines is in the midst of a major initiative to modernize its fleet over the next several years. After first announcing the plan in 2021, planes fitted with United’s signature interior are finally beginning to appear across the airline’s narrowbody fleet of Boeing and Airbus planes. United flyers are sure to notice these enhancements from the moment they step on board: Each new or updated plane sports remodeled seats, seatback entertainment screens for everyone, Bluetooth connectivity and more, all adding up to a better experience on every journey.
