As Qatar prepares to welcome the world in November for the World Cup, Qetaifan Island North prepares to meet visitors’, especially family travelers’, every need for entertainment and luxury accommodations. Billed as Qatar’s first “entertainment island,” Qetaifan Island allows visitors to experience everything from luxury and relaxation to adrenaline-fueled adventure.

The island covers 1.3 million square meters and is designed to be a luxurious entertainment community for guests. It will be home to floating hotels and a variety of entertainment and tourist attractions, such as beach clubs and the island’s premier attraction, an enormous water park. Covering more than 129,000 square meters of the island, the park features 36 rides like the Icon Tower, a zone located off the island’s shore accessible by an over-water bridge. Icon Tower features an 85-meter drop at the world’s tallest water slide.

Floating hotels surrounding the water park offer guests incredible views of the island and the surrounding waters, along with easy access to shopping on the island, such as at the local souk (market), where visitors can shop for luxury goods as well as local handicrafts highlighting the culture and history of Qatar.

The different areas of the island will be easily accessible to one another via Linear Park. In addition to the water park, hotels and shopping venues, the island allows visitors to experience activities such as fishing and boating, as well as community facilities such as a kids’ club.

Qetaifan Island will be the ideal getaway for sports fans planning to attend the FIFA World Cup in November. Located off of Lusail City near Lusail Stadium where the final match of the competition is to take place, visitors can attend the final game without having to travel far from their home base on Qetaifan Island.
