Panama City Beach invites family travelers to spend a weekend (or longer) this spring to experience its many attractions and sites. From family-friendly resorts to parks to restaurants, Panama City Beach has something for the whole family.
Parks
Panama City Beach boasts a number of parks for outdoor activities. At St. Andrews State Park, families can go bike riding, hiking or even into the water for a swim or snorkeling session. St. Andrews State Park features more than a mile of beach and is the perfect place to go shelling, build sandcastles or simply sunbathe.
Aaron Bessant Park lies within walking distance of the Gulf and includes 70 acres of manicured lawns, walking trails and an amphitheater. Play a game of frisbee or have a picnic in the grass with family.
Attractions
Head to Coconut Creek Family Fun Park to witness cascading waterfalls, play a game of mini golf or venture into The Gran Maze, a giant labyrinth the size of a football field. Take on fun challenges in the maze, as well.
As the weather warms, cool off at Shipwreck Island Waterpark. The park offers an array of thrilling adventures, such as the 500,000-gallon wave pool, a lazy river, The Free Fall drop slide and The Pirate’s Plunge Racing Slide.
Activities
Take advantage of being on the water and enjoy watersport activities and dolphin tours through Adventures at Sea. Adventures at Sea boasts more than 60 locations behind Panama City Beach hotels and condos, giving guests the chance to rent pontoon boats and jet skis or go parasailing or sail boat cruising.
Kids can fulfill their pirate fantasy at Sea Dragon Pirate Cruise, where pirates, sword fights and dolphin sightings are just some of the exciting features that come with the trip. Kids can fire the kid cannon and help discover treasure.
Restaurants
Enjoy a cold drink and fresh seafood at Sharky’s Beachfront Restaurant. The restaurant also features the Pirate Ship Playground for the little ones to enjoy while the adults sit back and relax.
For some live entertainment, Schooners Last Local Beach Club provides guests with delicious meals and stunning views of the Gulf. Plan a dinner here at sunset to watch the sun drop from the horizon.
Resorts
Finding the perfect family-friendly resort can make or break a vacation, and Panama City Beach consists of many top-rated resorts for the family. Sandpiper Beacon Beach Resort earned the nickname “The Fun! Place” for its family activities, from mini golf to a lazy river to a waterslide.
Parents looking for a hotel that also allows them to indulge in some much-needed relaxation, Sheraton Panama City Beach Golf & Spa Resort features its award-winning Serenity Spa. While parents enjoy their time at the spa, kids can explore St. Andrews Bay on a kayak.
