Family travelers visiting Key West this August are in for a unique treat at the 25th annual Key West Lobster Festival. This fun event, Aug. 11–14, takes place at multiple locations on and around the city’s popular Duval Street. As the city celebrates the opening of lobster season, visitors enjoy fun activities celebrating all things lobster.
The festivities kick off Aug. 11 with a good, old-fashioned lobster boil at Caroline’s at the Porter Mansion where they will serve up fresh lobsters along with jumbo shrimp, andouille sausage, corn on the cob and jalapeño corn bread, all with a side of live local music to keep things lively. Tickets for this event are $32.
The festival events continue throughout the weekend with a five-course lobster dinner at nearby La Mer Dewey House on Aug. 12 and a street fair on Aug. 13, with lobster-themed booths and food stands along with a free concert featuring Just George, the Swerves and the Durtbags.
The fun wraps up Aug. 14 with a lobster brunch at First Flight Island and Brewery, followed by a Lobster Boil and pool party at the luxurious Southernmost Beach Resort.
Visit the festival’s website to purchase tickets for festival events and for links to discounts on local hotels.
