Here’s what is in store this season in Virginia Beach:
Planes, Trains and Santa (Nov. 28–30)
Kids won’t want to miss watching Santa arrive at Military Aviation Museum in style in a vintage airplane. While at the museum, don’t forget to explore hangars full of military aircraft and model train displays. Spread holiday cheer by donating new toys to Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters. Holiday Lights at the Beach (until Dec. 31)
Returning for its 31st year, this 600-foot display is now officially the longest LED light tunnel in the world. Drive along the boardwalk and admire the lights and color-changing archways set to the sound of the ocean. Advance ticket purchases are recommended.
Grand Hotel Illuminations (Nov. 30)
Both Historic Cavalier Hotel and Founders Inn will have their official lighting ceremonies. Free to all, the event also features carolers and even a visit from Santa.
Virginia Beach Christmas Market (Nov. 28–30)
Explore and buy handcrafted, one-of-a-kind goods from the 175 small businesses and artisans at this 44th annual Christmas market.
Regent University Christmas Village (Dec. 4–6, 11 and 13)
Returning for the first time in five years, this Christmas Village features a 40-foot Christmas tree, holiday shops, carolers and live nativity scenes across campus.
Holiday Parade at the Beach (Dec. 6)
Expect marching bands, dance troupes, decorated floats and Santa at this parade, featuring more than 100 parade units traveling down Atlantic Avenue.

Holiday Boat Parade of Lights (Dec. 6)
Keep the festivities going Dec. 6 with the annual boat parade, where decked-out boats sail the Lynnhaven Inlet. The best ways to spot the boats from land are along the city’s waterfront restaurants like Chick’s Oyster Bar.
Last Night on the Town (Dec. 31)
Welcome the new year at Town Center with live music by The Band Perry, fireworks and the midnight beach ball drop.
