Holland America Line just launched a brand-new voyage to Alaska, allowing family travelers to savor 18 days of adventure in Alaska. The new Great Bear Rainforest and Alaska Explorer journey brings guests through the rugged nature of the state, giving guests the chance to see the rare “Spirit Bear.”
Taking place onboard Zaandam, the first two days encompass sailings through Seymour Narrows, Bella Bella, Grenville Channel, Great Bear Rainforest and Princess Royal Island, as well as a bit of the Inside Passage. These sailings let guests spot whales, wildlife and waterfalls.

Highlights of this trip also include:
- Calls in eight ports in Alaska, including an overnight in Anchorage
- An 11-hour call in Prince Rupert, British Columbia (where guests can take more shore excursions into Great Bear Rainforest)
- Scenic cruising of both Glacier Bay and Hubbard Glacier
- A full day of scenic cruising of the Inside Passage
- Round-trip sailings from Vancouver
The inaugural sailing departs Sept. 16, 2026, and returns Oct. 4. For families looking for a shorter trip, Holland America Line will offer two shorter, seven-day cruises taking guests to tGreat Bear Rainforest on Noordam in October 2025 and April 2026.
