Need fall-themed plans this year? With autumn right around the corner, The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze, an electrifying event, will make a return in 2021. With more than 7,000 illuminated jack o’ lanterns, visitors will see intricate carved pumpkin designs, including scenes from the New York City skyline to an under-the-sea display. Families of all ages will appreciate the magical glow of the impressive exhibits.
Since the event began in 2005, it has grown into what it is today: Hudson Valley’s biggest Halloween event. This year, the event expanded from the Hudson Valley area to a second location in Long Island at Old Bethpage Village Restoration. The Hudson Valley location sells out every year, so booking early to reserve a spot is an absolute must.
For even more fall fun, check out Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow as both towns have Halloween-themed events. Watch out for the headless horseman riding around, enjoy a puppet show, engage with live street actors, and listen to the story of Sleepy Hollow. A full list of other Halloween events in the area are listed on the official Historic Hudson Valley website. For adults, travel down the road to Captain Lawrence Brewing Company for food, beer and spirits, or Wolf & Warrior Brewing Company for drinks before checking out the nearby shops.
The Great Jack O’Lantern blaze runs Sept. 17–Nov. 21.
