The Family Vacation Guide analyzed more than 100 resorts in the United States to find the top-rated ski resorts for U.S families. Factors such as the total length of ‘easy’ runs, the cost of a lift pass for a family of four and the availability of people movers went into the ranking of each ski resort.
Upon looking at each ski resort, the top 10 family-friendly ski resorts have been named:
- Vail, Colorado
- Park City, Utah
- Breckenridge, Colorado
- Keystone, Colorado
- Big Sky Resort, Montana
- Sunday River, Maine
- Stratton, Vermont
- Mammoth Mountain, California
- Beaver Creek, Colorado
- Angel Fire, New Mexico

Vail, Colorado, ranked first as the best family ski resort of the 2021/2022 season. With more than 57 kilometers of ‘easy’ runs, an hourly lift capacity of 63, 658 and seven people movers, Vail takes the top spot.
Park City, Utah, also comes in strong with 27 kilometers of ‘easy’ runs and a cost of only $276 for lift passes for two adults and two kids.
