Visiting the remotest parts of Earth is a fantasy adventurous travelers often indulge, but Up Norway’s latest tour makes it a bit easier. At least it does if the Arctic is where your fantasies lie. This tour company, which focuses on sustainable luxury experiences, is known for curating inspired journeys throughout Norway’s beautiful landscapes. This particular tour lets you explore Norway’s UNESCO-listed fjords by bicycle with a small group of like-minded individuals. It’s particularly ideal for families with adult children (or even older teens) who all share cycling as a favorite hobby.
The seven-day trip is being offered in May 2027, which gives you plenty of time to train for the journey. It will include stretches of riding designed for intermediate and advanced riders, and you’ll experience a range of Norway’s beautiful landscapes. Along the way you’ll ride through places like Sunnmøre Alps, Geiranger-Trollstigen National Scenic Route and Norangsdalen Valley. And of course, there will be plenty of Nordic cuisine to sample throughout the trip — each day starts with breakfast and you’ll ride with a traditional Norwegian packed lunch known as a matpakke, and each night you’ll have curated farm-to-table meals designed for recovery and to celebrate showcase foods.
You can bring your own bicycle if you prefer, but the tour will provide you with a bike equipped with electric gears and you’ll be accompanied throughout the entire journey by experienced cycling guides who bring with them years of knowledge about cycling, as well as knowledge of the local Norwegian terrain. A dedicated support vehicle will follow along to carry luggage and items to take care of any additional needs that might arise, such as extra wheels, tools, hydration mixes and nutritional snacks so all you have to worry about is enjoying the ride safely and bonding along the way.
