Halloween season is officially upon Williamsburg, Virginia, making the destination a top spot for family travelers this fall. Williamsburg offers a premier Halloween event at Busch Gardens, haunted history walking tours, family-friendly festivities and seasonal festivals. Late October also brings peak fall foliage, creating the perfect backdrop for the celebrations.
Halloween highlights include:
- Busch Gardens Howl-O-Scream(Sept. 11–Nov. 1): The Halloween event returns with five terrifying new experiences, including two haunted houses, two new Terror-Tories and an all-new live show, as well as nighttime rides on 10 coasters, spooky entertainment, and themed food and drinks.
- Busch Gardens Halloween Spooktacular (Saturday & Sunday, Sept. 19–Nov. 1): Younger children appreciate daytime trick-or-treating, festive entertainment, costumes and kid-friendly Halloween activities.
- Family Frights at Jamestown Settlement(Oct. 23–24): This not-so-scary evening features Halloween games, storytelling and family-friendly fun.
- Colonial Ghosts Walking Tour:Explore Williamsburg after dark while uncovering ghost stories and haunted legends.

- Williamsburg Pancake Festival(Sept. 25–27): The weekend boats sweet and savory pancake creations, family-friendly activities and special guest Joey Chestnut competing in a pancake-eating competition.
