Ted Stiles Preserve at Baldpate Mountain is a great spot for family travelers. Located in Titusville, New Jersey, the park offers picnic areas and trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding.
The preserve is set on about 1,800 acres in Mercer County, New Jersey. Originally called Baldpate Preserve, in 2007, the park was renamed after Edmund “Ted” Stiles, a local preservationist. A variety of rare birds and wildlife call the preserve home.

There are several trails within the park, which, when combined, total about 7 miles. There are currently eight trails open to visitors: Summit, Ridge, NW Loop, Switchback, Pleasant Valley, Fiddler’s Creek, Copper Hill and Kuser. Select trails are available to hikers only. Overall, hikers experience about 1,100 feet in elevation gain on the trails. Picnic tables are located at the summit of Baldpate Mountain. Here, visitors can take in views of the surrounding land and enjoy a picnic lunch before beginning the return trek to the parking area.
The on-site Strawberry Hill Mansion may be rented for private events and parties. The nearby Strawberry Hill native plant garden is a stone-walled garden, filled with beautiful native wildflowers, shrubs and trees.
The preserve is open to visitors year-round.
