Considering taking a family trip to Asia in 2024? Some destinations are more popular with traveling families than others, according to 12Go, a booking platform for flights plus ferry, bus and train tickets, in Asia.
According to the provider’s data on family travel and ticket bookings for the last year, the most popular Asian destination for families, as of 2023, is Thailand, followed by Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, India, Singapore and Sri Lanka.
The survey also looked at the most popular destinations within each of the 10 most-popular countries. It found, in Thailand, Chiang Mai, Bangkok and Koh Samui are favorites, thanks to the blend of family-friendly attractions, such as zoos and aquariums, as well as plenty of natural and cultural attractions.
In second-place is Indonesia, where favorite destinations included Sanur, a beach destination with affordable pricing; Nusa Penida, an outdoor adventure hub; and the Gili Islands, a series of three islands filled with water and beach activities.
Lastly, in third-place is Vietnam, which showed favorite destinations for family travelers like Hanoi, the capital city with its near-endless opportunities to explore the country’s history and culture; Da Nang, a coastal city with all the amenities a family could need; and Ninh Binh, a top choice for outdoor fun.
