This winter, take your family travels to Baja California Sur to discover the wonders of its diverse landscapes, vibrant marine life and rich cultural history.
Nestled along the eastern side of the Baja California Sur peninsula, Loreto is a charming small town with stunning views of the coast. The Bay of Loreto and its islands are part of the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Gulf of California and nearly a third of the world’s marine mammals, with more than 170 seabird species and 700 fishes living there. Immerse yourself in the gulf’s ecosystem and experience encounters with blue whales, dolphins and other unique sea creatures. Head into town for warm hospitality and locally owned boutique hotels and restaurants. Other on-land activities include mountain exploration to see 1,000-year-old cave paintings and more.
Next head south to La Paz, the state capital, for encounters with the gentle giants of the sea, whale sharks, as well as the more playful sea lions. Explore La Paz’s historic sites, iconic Malecon and vibrant culture for a different look at the rich history of Baja California Sur. Afterwards travel just an hour away to explore the town of La Ventana, offering thrilling kiteboarding experiences and a unique blend of adventure and relaxation.
Lastly, journey to Los Cabos to experience the exciting nightlife and indulge in the upbeat atmosphere, or unwind on the sandy shores of the Pacific Ocean. Families can relax on the pristine beaches or play a round at one of the many world-class golf courses. Fish enthusiasts must make for the point on the Baja Peninsula where the Pacific Ocean meets the Gulf of California, known as a sportfishing hot spot where you can find species like striped marlin, mahi mahi, yellowfin tuna and others.
