Just in time for spring sunshine and soon-to-be summer weather, ACE Adventure Resort in Oak Hill, West Virginia, reopens with a splash. Local favorite and on-site lakeside recreation Wonderland Waterpark welcomes guests as early as 10 a.m., to enjoy the warmer weather — open until 6 p.m. for now, but the summer hours extend 9 a.m.–8 p.m., by Memorial Day Weekend.
West Virginia locals, roadtrippers passing through and waterpark enthusiasts can enjoy the affordable break from the heat. Families, kids and the young at heart enjoy double waterslides, ziplines over the lake, swimming, playing with inflatable toys and lakeside lounging all summer long. Work up an appetite and indulge in ACE’s wood-fired pizza, classic American cookout fare and drinks at the Lost Paddle, located just beside the park.
With the waterpark located on a spring-fed mountain lake, your family can choose from endless water sports and land-based activities. Watch the kids get out on the lake running through a larger-than-life hamster wheel over the water, jumping on the lake-top trampoline and climbing an enormous sphere, circling and wobbling as more people climb on.

Head out mountain climbing or take the little ones to the obstacle course and seesaw park. The older kids can play life-sized chess by the lake, or play tetherball and volleyball with friends.
Head out with the whole family on a bike ride, hike or leisurely walk as Adventure Park boasts more than 25 miles of varied trails. Trek up to the Concho Overlook with an unbeatable view of the property and the New River Gorge.
Wonderland Waterpark sits on five acres, while the Adventure Park and Resort as a whole has more than 1,500 acres of wooded terrain, tucked away from the highway. With New River Gorge located nearby, some whitewater rafting may be on your list, or just enjoying the view. See what else the resort has to offer, from excursions and daytrips to an impressive lineup of adventure activities.
Passes vary, $10–30 per person, and can be purchased by full or half day, individual and groups. Upgrade with a cliffside zipline tour beginning at $99 per person. Extend your stay with camping, lodging and resort options and enjoy the live music, dining and various events hosted by ACE throughout the summer.
