As summer approaches, thoughts of island getaways and family travel are inevitably on your mind. This summer, head to the sun-kissed islands of Greece for a vacation to remember filled with beautiful landscapes, incredible adventure and memories that will last a lifetime. While there are many to choose from, here are three must-see islands that should be at the top of your summer vacation list.
Rhodes
A visit to Rhodes will be one of the most memorable vacations for the entire family. Known for lush greenery and centuries of history, the island offers incredible sites like the picturesque village of Lindos and the famous Kastello, a medieval castle found in the port town. The island is also home to the remnants of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Colossus of Rhodes.
Lefkada
Lefkada. nestled in the Ionian Sea off the western coast, is known for one of the most famous beaches in the world, Port Katsiki Beach. The island offers an incredibly varied geography, giving adventurous families the opportunity to explore mountain villages, beautiful hiking trails, stunning waterfalls and amazing beaches all in one day. The beaches offer clear waters, great snorkeling and watersports like windsurfing and kitesurfing.
Milos
Milos, one of Greece’s Cycladic Islands, is known for incredible landscapes and beautiful beaches. The island was formed by underwater volcanoes, resulting in stunning rock formations. Sarakiniko, the island’s most famous beach and perhaps one of the most well-known in all of Greece, is always a family favorite for its great swimming, sunbathing and wind-carved volcanic rock formations. Incredible food, great shopping and quaint villages make any visit to this island a trip to remember.
