Grenada isn’t just an island for adults; the Caribbean destination gives little explorers the freedom to explore and learn through nature, cultural activities and more. Families traveling to Grenada can expect a plethora of experiences, but these four make our list as definite must-tries.

Make Chocolate Yourself at a Cacao Farm
Who doesn’t love chocolate? Kids can have the chance to actually make it themselves at Belmont Estate, following Grenada’s cacao journey from tree to bar and discover how some of the Caribbean’s finest chocolate is grown, harvested and crafted. The historic working farm doubles as an eco-educational hub. Families can stroll through cacao groves, sample fresh beans, crack open ripe pods, and step inside the estate’s chocolate factory. From molding chocolate treats to smelling roasted cocoa nibs, it’s an experience unlike any other.
Go River Tubing on Balthazar River
Families with older children seeking excitement won’t want to skip a river-tubing session down Balthazar River. It’s one of the best ways to explore Grenada’s wild interior. The trip begins with a scenic drive through rural villages and spice farms, before taking on the cool and fast-moving rivers on inflatable tubes.

Witness Leatherback Turtles at Night
Between April and July, endangered leatherback turtles nest along the moonlit sands of Levera beach. These gentle giants, weighing up to 1,500 pounds, come out of the Atlantic Ocean to lay their eggs along the protected Levera National Park coastline. Guided evening walks led by location conservation group SPECTO introduce families to responsible wildlife tourism, using turtle-safe red torches to avoid disturbance.
