Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival
The festival held in September celebrates Chinese culture and cuisine. Bakeries throughout the city sell mooncakes as part of the celebration, as is typical in China. The traditional pastry features a thin dough, filled with a sweet or savory paste of taro, lotus seed, sweet bean or a mixture of nuts and seeds, often with an ornate design.
Metro Vancouver Feast of Fields
Non-profit organization FarmFolk CityFolk hosts the 29th annual festival Sept. 8. The celebration of local food and sustainable agriculture offers visitors a sampling of local gourmet food and beverages. Live music and silent auctions also take place during the event.
Visit Minoru Park and witness beautiful colors of fall foliage. Swing by Minoru Chapel, built in 1891, for prime leaf-peeping photo opportunities.
