Reno Tahoe boasts more than 100 murals in Midtown, and art aficionados can stroll on the Riverwalk to see many art pieces, including past Burning Man sculptures. And for some indoor fun, take the family to the interactive Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum. Here, kids will learn about the water cycle, experience a hands-on model of the Truckee River watershed and delve into the world of water and its many uses.

Animal lovers can’t miss the Animal Ark Wildlife Sanctuary. Families can get up close with non-releasable animals like Poppy the tiger, Gibbs the grizzly bear and Mochi the iguana.
