In a recent survey by Orbitz, 63 percent of millennial travelers said the hotel amenity they’d like to see more of is plants in hotel rooms. The same number said they seek plant-filled spaces and activities on vacation, including parks and botanical gardens.

Heeding that call, Orbitz collaborated with Garfield Park Conservatory and The Kimpton Gray, Chicago to create the first plant pop-up hotel. Act fast, as this stay is only bookable on Orbitz.com during National Indoor Plant Week, Sept. 16–20.

Squeeze in your last-minute booking now for a plant-loving stay later. Choose from 10 plant-themed rooms, inspired by the Garfield Park Conservatory. Rooms are available Oct. 18–20.

Aroid House
Beginning at $368 per night, guests opt for a king deluxe or queen deluxe room. The space will be filled with Aroids, a wild plant found growing on floor of the rainforest.

The Desert House
Beginning at $368 per night, guests choose between a king deluxe or queen deluxe room featuring a wide array of cacti and succulents.

Sugar from the Sun
Beginning at $368 per night, guests enjoy king deluxe rooms with the scent of fruit-bearing plants and trees filling the space, including vanilla orchids.

Chicago Room: The Fern Room
Choose between a king spa or king deluxe room, $368–563 per night. Your room will be filled with lush ferns native to the verdant, prehistoric landscape of Chicago.

Palm House
Choose between a king spa or king deluxe room for $368–563 per night. This room includes lush palms and plants native to tropical habitats around the world.

Each room features beautiful, living amenities that represent GPC’s mission to educate on diverse flora and inspire exploration. Walk around the room like it is your own greenhouse, reading plant-identification labels and learning more about the stunning in-room conservatory.

The plant-themed amenities don’t stop there. Guests will also be treated to green juices, aloe face masks and daily care instructions for hotel guests.

For those staying Oct. 18, guestrooms include a VIP Greenery experience. Enjoy your tickets to FLEUROTICA, the yearly fashion event at Garfield Park Conservatory. Read more about the annual show here and the inspiration from local greenery in Chicago’s own lush backyard.
