Travel Tips

With everything going on in the world, the fate of Halloween is still up in the air. Whether your town is canceling the holiday or coming up with alternatives, there is no reason your family should let Halloween slip away without doing something special.

Celebrate Halloween with the family from the comfort of your own home with these fun activities.

Dress Up

Even though your family might stay at home this year, that doesn’t mean you can’t dress up. Dress up as one of our suggested family costumes or have everyone in the family pick out their own costumes and surprise each other.

Trick-or-Treat at Home

Since the family is already dressed up, dedicate each room in the house as a trick-or-treat stop for the kiddos. Hand out a different candy in each room and have the kids go room to room to get it all.

Watch Halloween Movies

Whether your family is into the spooky, scary Halloween movies or would rather stick to classic ones, there are plenty of movies out there for a Halloween movie marathon. Head to Disney+ to watch movies like Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown and Nightmare Before Christmas, or head to Netflix to watch movies like Hubie Halloween, Poltergeist and Silence of the Lambs.

Play Halloween Games

If you have extra toilet paper laying around the house, turn a couple members of the family into mummies. Split into teams and see who can be mummified the fastest, or who can make the most creative mummy by adding other materials. Another Halloween game to try is Halloween Jeopardy. Make categories like Halloween history, movies, treats, destinations and more — see who knows the most about Halloween!
