Travel Tips

Planning a quick getaway seems so stressful for people who love to know the what, when and where of every trip. Packing your bags for a weekend getaway can be simple if you just follow these tips.

Pack solid color clothing. Having basic staples makes choosing an outfit easy. No need to plan out each day’s outfits when they all work together in multiple ways. If you plan to stay longer than a few days, throw in some funky accessories to jazz up your looks.

Purchase toiletries when you arrive to your destination. The tedious task of refilling mini shampoo bottles, lotions and toothpaste can take forever. Run to the destination’s local dollar store to pick up what you really need. This will help you cut down on time packing and getting on the road.

Don’t pack snacks for the car. While driving, have passengers look up unique places to stop and pick up a bite to eat. If an area is known for a certain food, try to find it. Stopping for snacks will force you to see more of the interesting spots along the way you may have passed otherwise.

Less is more. If you can consolidate everything into one bag, your car won’t feel so cluttered. Having that extra space will give you room to stretch your legs and have a spot to place any new souvenirs you want to bring home. Your hands will be happy to bring one bag into the hotel rather than three.
