Just in time to catch all the sights, two new hotels in the area open this summer: Firefall Ranch, joining Rush Creek Lodge and Spa and Evergreen Lodge sister properties; and Chicken Ranch Casino Resort in Jamestown. Tuolumne County has a long wildflower season. Great spots to take in the beauty include Lake Don Pedro, Blue Oaks Shoreline Trail, Red Hills Recreation Management Area, West Side Trail, Twain Harte and Tuolumne Meadows, among others.
Railtown 1897 State Historic Park offers weekend excursion train rides through October, covering 6 miles in 45 minutes on the Sierra Railway.
