Disney Parks Ditch Fast Pass, Introduce Disney Genie

Disney Parks around the world shut down for months due to the global pandemic. Since then, most parks reopened, but with restrictions like limited capacity, no Fast Passes and more. Guests hoped they would bring back the beloved Fast Pass, allowing guests to skip long lines and head straight to the ride.

Last week, Disney made an announcement they are officially getting rid of Fast Pass and introducing a system called Disney Genie. Coming this fall to both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort, Disney Genie is a complimentary and convenient new digital service designed to create your best Disney experience.

The Disney Genie is built right into the My Disney Experience and Disneyland Apps, and is designed to make planning easier while providing more flexibility. The service will help maximize park time. It also includes a personalized itinerary feature that will quickly and seamlessly map out your entire day from specific attractions, where to eat and entertainment. Just tell the Genie what your interests are and what you want to do and the planning will be done for you.

A few more features include:

• Itinerary updates from morning to night as Disney Genie will continue to update your itinerary throughout your day.
• Find your favorites at glance: Create a personalized tip board to instantly see your favorites. It will display current and forecasted future wait times that can help predict when to experience certain attractions.
• Enjoy more flexibility and fun. Disney Genie brings existing planning features together in one place. Join a virtual queue at certain attractions and make dining and experience reservations.
