Destinations

Family travelers all over are participating in skip-gen vacations, a big 2024 travel trend. Skip-gen vacations are when grandparents take their grandchildren on a trip without their parents. With a rise in this trend, Delta Vacations put together a list of recommended destinations based on locations and amenities ideal for grandparents and grandkids.

Royalton Bavaro, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

When booking with Delta Vacations, skip-gen travelers can enjoy private transfers to and from the airport, ensuring guests are able to enjoy their vacation as soon as possible. Delta Vacations also offers a deal where one child and one teen can stay free in the hotel’s family, presidential or chairman suites. Grandparents can relax at the hotel’s on-site spa, check out the fitness center or hit the casino while the kids play at the splash pad, float down the lazy river and play a round of miniature golf. Reunite at dinner for a delicious family meal at one of the resort’s 11 restaurant options. Kids aged 4–12 can head to the Kids Adventure program featuring live shows, supervised activities, games and a playground. Teens can hang out in the teen lounge which includes games, PlayStation rooms, a WiFi area with charging stations, and pool and ping pong tables.

The Boca Raton in Palm Beaches, Florida

With more than eight pools; a private, white-sand beach; ocean-view cabanas; golf course; tennis and pickleball courts; a lazy river; water slides; and kiddie cabanas, The Boca Raton has something for travelers of all ages. Travelers booking with Delta Vacations receive free access to Banyan Kids Club for tween travelers.

Villa La Valencia Beach Resort and Spa, Los Cabos, Mexico

Villa La Valencia Beach Resort and Spa features something for everyone in the family. The Kids Club Program offers the young ones mini yoga classes, face painting, tie-dye classes, scavenger hunt, Mexican arts and crafts, Connect 4 tournaments, video games, mini Zumba classes, and time on the longest lazy river in Cabo. While the kids are entertained, grandparents can indulge themselves in cooking classes, couples’ massages, Zumba, bingo, stretching classes and live entertainment. Travelers booking through Delta Vacations receive  a private transfer to and from the airport, as well as a free stay for kids 12 and under.
