Hollywood has a long history as a leading hub for the entertainment industry, attracting visitors to experience the excitement of the movies and get a touch of the rock star life. At Andaz West Hollywood, a concept property by Hyatt, family travelers can get a glimpse of what it’s like to live like a rock star, even if only for a couple of nights.
The property was the first hotel on the famed Sunset Strip and a favorite among the biggest names in rock and roll in the mid-1960s. Today that influence is seen everywhere throughout the property, from rooms named after the rock stars who stayed in them to the rock and roll memorabilia from House of Blues, which once stood directly across the street from Andaz.
The rooms all have incredible views, giving you an iconic Hollywood landscape to enjoy during your stay. The back-facing rooms, which look out on to the Hollywood Hills, also give you a glimpse into the artsy side of Los Angeles with colorful murals adorning the walls of the parking area behind the hotel. The murals were each designed and created by local Los Angeles artists handpicked by the hotel to create a scene unique to Andaz.
Despite its location on busy Sunset Boulevard, the hotel is quiet and peaceful, giving you and the family the perfect base camp for your Los Angeles vacation. The relaxing vibe and comfortable rooms let you rest up in between busy days exploring Hollywood, Beverly Hills and the rest of Los Angeles, all within driving distance of the property.
The rooftop pool offers panoramic views of Hollywood and Los Angeles beyond, so in addition to enjoying a day by the pool, you can get lost in the sprawling sight of the city. While the scenery has changed quite a bit since the property first opened in 1963 as Gene Autry’s Hotel Continental and the hotel itself has received multiple modern facelifts over the years, the vibe remains the same — a rock-and-roll chic getaway that lets your family relax in luxury while you explore the city on your terms.
