All travelers, and especially family travelers, look to maximize savings when booking flights so they can spend money elsewhere while traveling. A new study from Upgraded Points examines which booking option offers the best savings. Is it purchasing a round-trip flight or two one-way tickets?

The study looked at airfare data across five of the busiest domestic routes in the United States to compare round-trip ticket prices and one-way flights. Prices for five-day trips over a one-week, Monday through Sunday period were evaluated. Find the results of the full study here.

“Deciding between a round-trip ticket and separate one-way flights can significantly impact your travel budget,” said Keri Stooksbury, editor-in-chief, Upgraded Points. “And since travelers often face this choice when booking, we decided to break down the costs associated with both options.”
